Buffet vs Sit Down - Long Island Weddings

if you are having a fairly large size wedding i would choose sit down because buffet takes time to go through and there will be a lot of people waiting if it's a large party. I went with sit down but you have to choose what you and your FH want more. Usually there isn't too much of a price difference

I agree. Most of the venues I went to the prices weren't much different between the two. We went with a sit down because we feel that its a little more formal for a wedding. When you go to venues ask them how they set up for a buffet. Some places depending on how many people you are going to have, set up two buffet lines to make it go a little quicker.

Buffet vs Sit Down - Long Island Weddings

I'm having the same problem! We are leaning more towards a buffet so people have more of a choice of what they want, but sit-downs are easier and the people don't have to wait in line for their food. For my venue it's the same price. Tough decisions!

Buffet vs Sit Down - Long Island Weddings

I prefer sit down because I think it's just more formal. I guess it depends what vibe you want to go for. The only buffet wedding I have ever been to was one I went to in Tennessee.

Buffet vs Sit Down - Long Island Weddings

I would go sit down...people are going to be getting their own food during cocktail hour .

I agree with alot of the ladies here, sit down is more formal also

Buffet vs Sit Down - Long Island Weddings

we want a buffet bc I think guest will have more dancing, I don't like that people are forced to sit down when a plate is put down. I. think if lines are your concern the dj could help u with that. they may suggest calling by table number. we didn't get that far yet but we did decide buffet!

Buffet vs Sit Down - Long Island Weddings

I agree that a sit down is more formal but as a guest I personally never cared whether it was a buffet or sit down (as long as there are severs so you aren't juggling a plate and trying to scoop food while holding up a line). I only disliked a buffet once because it was 4 separate food stations set up in the corners of the room. I didn't know what station had what food so after waiting on 2 lines and still not finding pasta, I gave up lol
