Re: Buffets

When I signed my contract with the hall I actually booked a buffet style dinner. It gave guests a larger selection and it wasn't so formal.

I wanted people to be able to eat when they wanted to eat and not have to be rushed because the next course was coming out.

you know to be honest I never really had a problem with them- depends on you really and how you feel about guests standing on line to get food- I think its more of a personal choice!

I agree, I actually kind of like them, to me its more of a choice/selection

I will third this.

We are having a sit down.....I wanted a little bit of formality to my wedding.

However, I see nothing wrong with them at a wedding. Sure sometimes the line is a pain, and some people are lazy.....but I'm telling you now...as a guest.......If I'm going to someone's wedding.....I am there to celebrate them...I'm not there to critique the way they throw a party.

To each their own of course. As some of the girls said, its nice to see before you pick, and you have a plethora to choose from. The only downfall is sometimes the disorganzation and the lines.

Other than that..I'll state it again..I'm there to celebrate my friends. I don't care if they only had passed appetizers...I'm honored to be celebrating in their day

i think as long as the service and set up is done right then it would be no problem...i myself enjoy buffets b/c you get to pick and choose and see, no problem with me...i never got 'annoyed' getting up to get my food...i have gotten annoyed about how long it has taken at some events, but if your service and set up is good then its no problem...the only con i can see is a buffet is similar to cocktail hour (chafing dishes) but i personally enjoy them
