Bummed

I am so upset - I sent out my STD's over 6 months before the wedding and I didn't hear from anyone that they were not coming because they had made plans.

I recently sent out my invitations and so far a handful of people declined - they have known for so long about the wedding date and place. Now I am scrambling to send out a few more invites to people so that I am not short on my minimum.

i'll bet though that its the people that can't come that are going to get back to you first....hopefully soon you will be getting a lot more YES's!

I am sorry... We afriad we might come up short on our min as well...

My family is notorious for not sending out the RSVP on time, so my parents were calling some people just to see if they received their invites and all and some just told my parents that they will not be coming.

I'm sure the people who can't go are sending their RSVP early, but then you'll get a rush of 'yeses' in the mail.

I hope so.
I am just hurt a bit - I am paying a lot of money on this wedding and I originally didnt want to have this type of wedding but my FI and my parents convinced me to have a traditional wedding.
GRRR.

It happens. I too was suprised and even hurt by some of the declines. One couple in particular really through me for a loop bc they are or at least we thought they were close friends. We were so supportive of their wedding last year. They new about our wedding even before STD's went out and even invited some of our mutual friends to stay at their house bc they live so close to the RH. We got their RSVP which said 'no, sorry we'll be in Florida that weekend.' W T F I am still burning about it (I know I need to let it go).

Don't let it upset you too much and remember those who want to be there will do whatever it takes to share your special day
