Bummed!!

I'm currently going to school... but all along we were thinking we'd have kids after 1 year. Now it looks like we'll have to wait 2. At the rate im going, I'll graduate spring 2006! Which may be good, because I'll get school out of the way... have a kid... then go find a real job since i'll have my degree.
I'm still bummed though... im thinking of giving up school!!! It's just taking too long!! I may have to start going full time.

Re: Bummed!!

can you go part time to school. I had left my college in 2001 and i need one more semester. if i go part time it will take me a year to finish. i havent gone back and everyday its a reminder how i should go back. i get so upset with myself that i just need 15 credits.

dont put off school. even if it takes you forever to do, in the end it will be the biggest accomplishment of your life. you worked so hard for it and you'll have it. things can be taken away, but your education can never be taken away.

stick it out, you'll do great.

I'm going part time now, but the only way to finish by spring 2006 is to go full time... I guess im just going to have to work hard and do it!! I took a 5 year break from school, and i changed majors, so that totally screwed me!! I may have to find another job to do that though. Go back to retail.

Re: Bummed!!

just keep up the hard work. it will pay off in the end. i had ups and downs in my college experience. i was on academic probation twice, changed majors, failed a few classes, and even though i had those bumpy roads it just pushed me more because i wasnt going to let an F or academic probation stop me from getting my degree.

so i have taken some time off and i will go back and will try harder.

just keep up the good work and dont give up. we have all been there at one time. dont let graduating in 2006 stop you.

there are people who never went to college, people who went for a year and never went back, you went farther then those people. you are one step ahead of those people. you are a college student and will be a college graduate. just keep up the good work. dont you worry, no matter how long it takes you'll get there.

I graduated from high school in 1998. I went to college that sept, but decided it wasn't for me so I took a year and a half off. I went back gradually, and now I work full time and go to school full time. I am graduating in June with my associates and have another two years until I get my bachelor's. My point is, don't stress. If you think you need to take time off to have children, do it. If you feel you need to go full time, then do that. It doesn't matter how long it takes you to finish, just as long as you do it. It will be hard work, but I know it will pay off. Hang in there-you're not alone!

I took a few years off from college and I forced myself to go back and now I'm going to be graduating from law school in the next few months. Don't quit or give up it pays off down the road.
if you need to take some time off for kids or sanity do it! But one word of caution my FH's brother took time off when they had their 2 kid and then never went back. And now is very upset that he can't afford to go back. So if you can pull thru get it done.
You might now realize its value but down the road you will be thanking yourself for your hard work
Good luck - if you ever need a shoulder to talk to de stress let me know

Thanks for all your moral support. I just look at my schedule and i feel so overwhelmed. I haven't gone full time in 6 years... and i could barely do it then. Maybe my FH will be good moral support to help me get through doing it full time... i really would like to get it over with. I guess 2 years isn't so bad!
