Bummed

No honeymoon for us! At least right away.

FMIL was supposed to give us $$ as a gift to cover honeymoon and the rest just for us but now she doesnt have it.

I knew since last year that there was a possibility we werent going away right away but my hopes were raised and now dashed.

What su cks is I added alot to all my vendor packages that could add up to paying for our honeymoon because I was relying on that $$.

I only hope about 30 more people rsvp no lol so I can use that $$ towards Mexico.

awww.....well check out travelzoo.com or cheapcaribbean.com -- they have last minute specials a lot of times--and you could book something quick after the wedding.

maybe at least do a few days at a bed & breakfast or local getaway?

That is such a bummer! I'm so sorry. Maybe you'll get lots at the reception and still be able to go. My cousin didnt book her honeymoon until the day after her wedding because they were out of $ until the reception...they ended up going away for 5 days to New Orleans, and LOVED it. Hopefully everything will work out for you!

its hard to rely on others especially with money, FMIL says she will do our RD but then every other time we talk to her she says she has no money cuz of FHs brother and the trouble he gets himself into...so we are not counting on it, but it will be a nice surprise if she pulls through.

keep an eye on the travel sites especially the last minute deals, and maybe you can find something low key to do...

i sure it will all work out in the end

yea we'll have to book something right after with any wedding $$ we get but we really wanted to use that $$ towards debt.

Awwww...you'll go on your honeymoon...just think of it this way you'll get to save some more $$ for an even better and more luxurious HM .

FH and I wanted to get married but we knew we wouldn't be able to do a honeymoon right away so we'll be going in Summer '09.

Let me tell you what we did......We got a 0% APR for one year Credit card. We are paying the min. ($5) and using wedding $ to pay it off when we return! I cant belive I just told people that. Is this messed up?
