bummed...

bummed...

so i have to go for this test before my surgery... the only day they can do it is 12/29. for 7 DAYS beforehand i cannot eat:

broccoli/cauliflower
spinach
hot dogs
chinese/japanese
and here's the kicker...

SHELLFISH!

HeLLooooo i am italian!!!! what do italians eat on christmas eve? whose mother makes the best crabcakes on earth?

O no, xmas eve is my favorite holiday because of this!!!! This would ruin me, I totally feel your pain. I have been looking forward to it for months.

im thinking that whatever surgery you are getting, you're going to feel a whole lot better afterwards so try to focus on that positive. maybe ask your mom to not make the crabcakes?? might seem silly but if you don't have to see them/others eating them, it might be a little easier to get through the night.

she offered to not make them but i'd feel so bad for everyone else because we all look forward to them. and you're right - it's all for the best in the end! I'll have them new years eve instead.

just shellfish. she makes everything under the sun, i'm just partial to crab, lobster and scallops.

aww...that stinks....I agree...go find some crab cakes to indulge in before hand...they might not be as good as moms...but try to enjoy all the same.

well, its definatley not the BEST choice...but an alternative is to ask you mom to make the crab cakes with teh imitation crabmeat. its worth a try...
