I was fascinated by your comments about the winery -- do they hold engagemnt parties? I am in the process of planning ours and I am leaning towards the opposite of our very city wedding? What can you tell me about the place -- it would be perfect -- FI collects wine.

I agree. An engagement party at a winery would be fab!

You could do centerpieces with pretty flowers and grapes! I love it

After I wrote that I remembered I went to a holiday party that had a beautiful centerpiece with grapes, pomegranate, and flowers in it. I took it home and took pictures! Not sure if this would be a bit much for an e-party but to give you and idea.

Deb - Raphael does any kind of event. The price per head is fairly reasonable, but there is a hefty site fee involved - how many people are you looking to party? Julie, the coordinator there, is an amazing person, and so passionate about the place and the vineyard (owned by her family for generations)

Raphael Catered Events

There are lots of other wineries that do events as well, although at many you have to pitch atent. Take a look at North Fork Weddings

Amazing resource as well.

Check out Galluchio-that was our second choice. They have a newly renovated tasting room for events. So pretty...

We live in the city and hate it. We wanted the anti-NYC wedding, and Raphael was the answer to that without being too much of a hippie wedding (which I fantasized about too-barefoot with daisies in my hair. sigh...)

Let me know if I can answer any other ?'s!

eta- if FI is a wine guy, you have to go out there for a visit. You will be blown away! Standing out on the veranda overlooking acres of vineyards sipping their amazing merlot...

It's so European.
