burtons

i went to burtons yesterday to choose my flowers. i know some brides were nervous about the contract saying any flower, any style so i just wanted to let you know that he really does mean that. mike wrote down everything i said and i am confident i will get exactly what i want. he also spent a lot of time with me going over different types of flowers and i feel like he would have let me take 3 hours to decide if i needed to. there was a recent post by a bride who was very unhappy with them which i am sure made a lot of us nervous but since i'd been to a number of weddings where they've done an amazing job i decided to stick with them. good luck everyone!

Re: burtons

Thank you SO much for the post. I actually called Burtons after some of the negative post and spoke to someone there about them. They were very nice and helpful.
I go July 20th to pick out my flowers. WHat did you get? I am still looking for ideas.

Re: burtons

i'm having mostly roses and hydrangea in lavendar, white and cream. my tables are long ovals and i don't really like tall centerpieces so for my centerpieces so he's making long oval arrangements with lavender hydrangea and lav and white roses with other filler stuff and there will be ivy draping down the sides and on to the table. my bouquet is all white hydrangea (can you tell its my favorite flower??) and white roses with some freesia to give it a little color. he actually has books with photos if you don't decide on anything before you go.

I felt the same way with Mike, he was so nice and willing to do anything. He told me to clip pics of flowers I like and when I go back in August to actually pick the flowers to bring the pictures. My girlfriend used them and recommended then and their prices you cannot beat!

Someone was saying you go in like a week before and he makes up a sample to show you? Do you have to ask for that or does he just do it?

Re: burtons

thats what they do. i think it is a week or even a couple of days before so you see and approve the centerpieces before the big day. i have to call him 2 weeks before with my table count so i think we make the appt to see the samples at that point.

Re: burtons

I just booked Burton's last week. I did read that negative post, but I went there anyway to see their work and talk to them for myself. There are many other people here using them and a friend of my FH used them for his wedding, and they were happy with their work. Mike was very nice and helpful and I think their prices are very reasonable. I'm going to show them pics of arrangements and flowers I want as well.

Re: burtons

Michele, you go in July? You're the wedding is the day before mine, and Mike said not to come to pick until September. That's okay with me though. I need all the time they'll give me. These final decisions/details are becoming harder and harder to decide.
