Better prices at Burton's, but I liked the service better at Bridal Reflections.

I did not go to Burtons, but it's quite known that they give very good pricing. BR is expensive, but I agree with the above poster, that I like the service there.

Re: burtons vs. bridal reflections

I went to both. Price is MUCH better at Burtons. As for service, I found the service at BR lacking. I made an appointment to view 4 specific dresses (Eve of Milady & Amalia Carrerra). I was told they had all 4 of them. When I got there I had to wait 1/2 hour before being served (which was okay with me, because I want all brides to be able to take their time, and if someone took longer than alloted time who cares really?). When I finally got to dressing room, sales person asked what kinds of dresses I was interested in. I told her 4 dresses should have been put aside. It was at least another 1/2 hour before two of them were tracked down, and the other two were not in the store and they didn't have them at all. In the meantime she kept trying to show me other stuff. I explained I didn't want to waste her time, I knew exactly what I was looking for etc. She ignored me and kept bringing in dresses. My mother was not happy either. Finally, Christine (the manager) came into dressing room. She told me they didn't have the other two dresses and that one of them was not yet being manufactured (not true, I called Eve of Milady that Monday and asked), and asked what I was looking for given their extensive collection. I repeated that I didn't want to waste her time etc. She insisted, so I told her NO satin, absolutely nothing asymetrical, nothing that would require changes (because if you have to change it, then it's not the dress), and nothing strapless. She comes back in the dressing room with three dresses, one strapless, one asymetrical, and I forgot what the third one was. All three of them were at least $1500 over what I said my budget was.

As for Burtons, the store is very small and cramped. You must must must make an appointment if you want to try anything on. They are generally short staffed so you will not get one on one constant help, as whoever is helping you will be answering phone and helping whoever else is in the store. That said, they are pleasant, do what they can to help, and I ordered my dress from them, as well as bridesmaid dresses for my sister's 2004 wedding.

I tried on dresses at a bunch of stores, and the ordered it from Burtons - for $250 less. BR was a little hard to deal w/, the service wasn't that great. But I didn't find it to be much better or worse than other places. I didn't actually try dresses on at Burtons, but my sister had used them for her wedding and BM dresses and they were really nice and the prices were good. Like I said, they are getting me my dress for $250 less, and they just priced my BM dresses at $118! I've had a BM dress altered there before so I know they do good work. They are worth checking out. If you find a dress you really like at another store, you should call Burtons and get a price from them. Good luck!

I never went to burtons but I did go to BR and I went there without an appointment and they helped me out and I showed her tpics of 4 dresses that I liked and she had 2 of them and then she brought in 2 dresses similar to the pictures of the other 2 that they didn't have. She also brought in a few other dresses that she thought I might like and I have to say I ahve had a pleasant experience with them also when I went up to put a deposit on my dress they took money off of the dress. I have used tehm for 3 weddings for Bridemaids dresses and I have liked them.

I went to the BR in Massapequa I know alot of people have had problems with the one in Carle Place

went to both, but it came down to Adrienne's and Burtons. BR turned me off from the get-go by asking what was my budget, not letting me try on certain ones because they said I was too big. EGGG!!

I had a great experience at BR in Carle Place and they get better with each time I call or need them for something. They saved me over $700 on my dress and couldnt have been more helpful.

Ditto, have had no problems at the CP location.

You will have varying experiences, the best thing I can say is to go to both and base it off of your experiences, not others. Good luck!

Re: burtons vs. bridal reflections

BR in CP asked me my budget too but I didnt think that was too big of a deal. HOWEVER, a friend of mine told me that the reason why I was treated well there was because I was slim. I really wanted to believe otherwise, because that would have sickened me. I was heavy once myself and I know how it feels to be treated poorly because of my weight. Had I seen anyone mistreated there with those circumstances, I would have taken my business elsewhere in a SECOND!

That's just really sickening. I didn't experience anything that or seen anything similar to that while I was there, but if I did, I would have gone elsewhere as well.

That seamstress also received rave reviews on other threads. Sorry, but everyone's experiences are different.

Burton's is located on Rt 110 in Huntington, across the street for TGI Friday's, I believe.
