Bus tour from Kona to Hilo on Big Island??

Bus tour from Kona to Hilo on Big Island??

We are wondering for those who already stayed on the Big Island, is it worth it to do a bus tour to Hilo for volcano natl park? (We are staying in Kona.) Or is it better to drive the 2 1/2 hours to Hilo ourselves?

I think the bus tour would be better so we dont have to do the drive, but I dont want to have to leave the volcanoes because the bus is leaving.

Any suggestions would be helpful!!

I have to be brutally honest. I have done the drive, and its EXTREMELY boring. I would pass on it. Just my opinion though...:)
