I think they said that the end of Hurricane Season is November 30th. Though, in 2005, which was one of the busiest Seasons on record (they are comparing that to what we should expect this year) the Season ran well into the month of December which is very rare.

That was the year of Katrina- among many others.

I don't mean to worry you more- that's just what the article says.

Maybe think about taking Hurricane Insurance??

We are going to Hawaii so we should be OK but one of the reasons I did not go anywhere in the Carribean was b/c we are in the middle of HS.

Hmm, I just hope it's OK.

I've heard it's supposed to be a bad season, but I've they say that every year. Especially since Katrina. Hopefully it will be nice and calm.

Actually, last year was supposed to be very busy but then, without warning, El Nino took affect which made the Season very quiet.

Now that El Nino has ended- it can become very busy.

sandals actually offers a hurricane guarantee, it says that if the island you are at gets hit by a hurricane at any point during your stay you get a new, comparable vacation free... but that doesn't apply if it just rains a lot!! argh... i wonder if i can reschedule our HM??

Yes ive heard this too, they said this year is supposed to be bad but sometimes they make mistakes when predicting these things, i guess all we can do is just hope for the best.

Oh wow- that's great!! So, you should be covered... But if it just rains a lot-- hmm, I don't know. I think you should be OK. Even in the event of a TS or Hurricane hitting where you are and it just rains- that still counts as a Hurricane so it should be covered.

I wouldn't worry about it too much - they say that every year. Make sure you have travel insurance, just in case but honestly I don't think the weathermen know what they are talking about half the time.

I heard that on NBC this morning....I really hope they're wrong
We're going to Hawaii, but I'm worried about hurricanes on the east coast.
My aunt and uncle got married in the days after hurricane gloria. They went on with the wedding...had a candelight ceremony at the church. Their catering hall didn't have power, so my aunt's mother found a restaurant that did and cried to them--they took on the wedding. It ended up being a really fun wedding, but I can't imagine being the bride and going through that.

That is what they said last year! But it was so tame. I try not toread into long term forecasts. Meteorloigists can barley tell you what the weather will be tommorow. JMHO

I know I have been saything this since last summer. I was afraid that this was going to occur around the time of the wedding. I pray that it doesn't happen to ruin anyone's wedding.

Can't worry about this.
This is one thing that we absolutely cannot control. We are at the mercy of Mother Nature.
If it rains,

Sandals offers a hurricane guarantee, and because the hurricane season is pretty much over in the Carribbean at the end of September, we booked Sandals Antigua for our October honeymoon. More of a chance of a hurricane hitting the Mexican coast.
Check any travel insurance policy as to how it covers weather.

THINK POSITIVE AND SUNSHINE !!!!!
