Business Advice

I am thinking of going into the Stationary business. On the side of course. I am a little nervous about it. Does anyone know anybody who has done this.
I am not good with making major decisions like this.

I am not going to give up my desk job of course. (not yet anyway)

What do you guys think?

What would you sell? Invitations? personalized writing paper? seals? If so, I LOVE paper and I will be your first customer!!
I think its a great idea!

Re: Business Advice

What do you mean my stationary business? Are you planning to make custom invitations and such? Or are you talking about selling boxes of paper?

Invites and things like that. I bought my invites from a lady who works out of her house and was able to geive me a good deal. A girl I work with recently quit to do this in the city and told me all about it and it is so easy to get started and I think I would really enjoy it.

I could also get into personalized stationary as well as wedding and b-day/communion etc. invites

Re: Business Advice

Jen, a friend of mine did this, and it now doing this full time out of her house. She started here:

http://www.encorestudios.com/dealer.htm

And she did this for every invitation company she could do it with...and now sells out of about 10 books. It's a slow climb, largely based upon word of mouth, but the commissions are decent, and if you have the time to put in, it could be very worth it!
