My FH called our priest to tell him we completed pre-cana and to ask him a couple of questions and when we booked the church last Sept. our priest told us he wasn't sure if he would be able to marry us bc he wasn't getting along with an older priest there so my FH asked him if he's still available for the wedding and he said he will be at the church for 6 more years bc he couldn't get a transfer and my FH said 'sorry, you have to deal with Father so and so then and he's like well no bc he died in December! Now he def. knows we don't go to church! how embarrassing...

They could have sent a church news letter around to inform the whole parish. He was there for like 25yrs. I was crackin up when my FH told me the story though. I think we have to start to make appearances at church now.

not many people are regular church goers anymore..so he probably wasn't surprised.
