I don't think you need to buy these, only if you want them....bridal salons do bustle points, which could be buttons or snaps, or they do it with ribbons somehow....you only need the bustle clip if you want it! I'm pretty sure at least....

Re: Bustle Clips $$$$???
i have been on this board for more than 2 years and this is the first time i've ever heard of a bustle clip. sounds to me like someone just thought of a way to make brooches extremely expensive by calling it a 'bustle clip' and selling it to brides.
don't think it would be necessary unless you feel like you have to have them---but seems a bit much to me.

Bustle clips are brooches, that is it. They clip onto the loop/hook that bustles your dress but are really only for use on an over bustle to cover the loop/hook. You can use them otherwise but are pretty much pointless. I bought my BMs brooches are things remembered to cover their bustle (it was an overbustle) so that you didnt see the hook.

Re: Bustle Clips $$$$???
I actually bought a brooch that i thought i was going to pin to a sash that I was going to add to my dress....but I never added the sash, so I have this brooch in the box, never used.
Let me know if you are interested...

THANKS! This is VERY helpful -- I thought it's a special button or something. I wanted to see the back.

The dress that I first picked out needed bustle clips but I found a dress that didn't need them. They are just to expensive.

I'm clueless with this stuff -- but how do you determine if your dress needs a clip??

How are you going to bustle your dress? If its going to be a french (or any type of french) then you wont need it. If its over, this is when you take the dress and tack it on top instead of underneath, then you may want to get one just to cover the hook. The norm is an under bustle, or a french so you most likely will not need it
