BUSTLES

BUSTLES

Question-I found a beautiful dress but it has a semi-cathedral train so it would have to be bustled during the reception so it's out of the way. I'm so clueless on this-does it look really stupid when it's bustled up? And does the bustle actually stay the whole night? I think this is a really important question since it can really be a thorn in your side during the reception. Pictures and comments, ladies?

You can go to two of my threads (My 5/17 review and my favorite table camera shots) and you can see how my bustle looked. I got a french bustle and loved it. It stayed in place the whole time!

I had a huge train and it took 4 people to bustle it, but it looked great...did the french bustle. I loved it....

I loved my bustle - it went under my hem so it didn't interfere with the lines of my gown.

negatives:
where the dress is folded under gets really dirty, and some of the snaps closer to the bottom would come undone if my heel caught.

But I still loved it!

I am obsessed with bustles - especially the French Bustle! I think dresses look beautiful with them...and even better, is a seamstress who knows how to place it right (my sister's kept coming loose...and the seamstress actually used BLUE buttons under her dress - which you could see!) so that you bustle it and it stays.

Amsale has the most amazing bustle, imo - it's so over the top it's hard NOT to love it!

edited for spelling.
