Re: Butter Cookies

1 lb butter (softened)
4 1/2 c. flour
1 c sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla or almond extract

Mix all ingredients well into dough and roll into balls and flatten (I use a hand held mixer and then knead the dough well). I like to use sprinkles and icing during xmas, or jelly other times of the year for color. You can't use cookie cutters on this recipe.

Bake for 10-12 minutes in preheated oven at 375F. Dont' make them too thick or overcook so that they're thin and crispy!
