Buying a home out of state

DH is going to NC next month and we wanted to get a pre qualification letter...do you look for a bank in NY or NC? TIA

I know we've all ready talked about Charlotte, I went through Wells Fargo (got pre-approved and closed while we were still in NY) since they were a national bank that did business in both places. In these instances, I think it's easier to go with a bigger bank.

thanks!! I was going to FM you but I did not want to bother you again So I would call wells fargo, and we can actually close in NY or did you have to go down their and close?

My husband had to come down to Charlotte to close. We had a power of attorney so that he could sign for me and only one of us had to come down.

Feel free to FM any other questions, being I just went through it myself I would have liked having someone to ask questions of.

Thanks...that is a great idea about the POA..my husband has much more job flexibility so that would be a great option..I am so excited about Charlotte
