How many of you were able to purchase a house while planning your wedding?
FI and I have been discussing it, and it seems like a possibility, but I'm uncertain about how we're going to come up with all this additional money for a down payment.

Re: Buying a House
We are looking into condos. We both still live at home as well and do not want to start our marriage off wihout a place of our own, but without the wedding money, we dont have a downpayment because we are paying for the wedding ourselves.

Noone can tell you what the right thing to do is. Money is a personal decision. If you are comfortable with the decision then go with it. As for Long Island real estate, I love my Nassau county postage stamp (as we call it) because it is all mine!
