Buying digital camera -- Need advice

I'm finally catching up with time and buying a digital camera....so, my questions are:

1) What brand do you have? type? Price?
2) Regular Battery? or Re-chargeable Proprietory Battery?
3) Any advice ?

We rec'd some gift card at our eparty so we hope to use it towards a digital camera. My FH and I are going on vacation in counting,,,,,,,7 days!!!!

Canon makes great camera's

FH just got me the SD450 model and it is the cutest thing and takes amazing pic's. Price range is around $300 depending on where you go.

It is a recharable battery

I have a canon... I forget the model, but it's pretty big and bulky... it was a gift, if I'd chosen it myself I probably would have gotten a smaller one that I could put in my pocket, but it's a great camera anyway!

Mine uses regular AA batteries, but you can get special long lasting rechargeable AA batteries for it. I really like it that way because I never think to recharge the batteries ahead of time, so this way I can just pop in regular AA batteries if I need to. (Which is also nice if I'm out of the house or something... I can just run into a drugstore or something and get some)

Here is a picture of the SD450 (Maybe not, it's not working

I used to have a bulky canon myself, but just upgraded to this. It is the smallest thing and the screen is 2 1/2 inches which is big for a digital.

good luck

Re: Buying digital camera -- Need advice

my FMIL bought me and FH a digital camera for x-mas. she was told by someone and she said she read in some consumer mag that olympus makes the 'best' camera (whatever that means, lol--i say, buy what you like) but that's what she swore by haha... i do love the camera:

i'm not sure the type i'm bad at this kinda stuff but i know it was the latest model/brand b/c she went on and on about it-- it's got like 5 or 6 megapixels and a big screen, auto zoom, plus the camera itself is pretty small and light-weight.

i have to say the pics it takes are great-- come out so clear. it has a battery that you put into a docket that plugs into the wall like you would charge your cell phone. it cost about 400-500 dollars b/c of course even though it was a gift she had to let me know the price right away...

lol guess you can tell how i feel about some of the things she does hahaha but GREAT camera!

here's a pic, let's see if this works!!

oh and it's 8.0 megapixel-- was way off on that, the higher the 'better' so they say-- but i love the camera honestly b/c it's simple to use (even dummies like me can do it) and b/c it takes AWESOME pics-- so clear and not fuzzy at all... plus, it's small so i can fit it in my purse-- i hate to feel like my grandfather with the fanny pack and the HUGE camera lol
