So, FH and I still haven't gotten the wedding rings and not much time left. We're going to Aruba the end of this month so FMIL suggested we get them there... supposed to be a lot of great jewelry stores there. Has anyone gotten diamonds in Aruba or another island b4? We were on a cruise last year and got Movada watches in St Thomas, but never thought about getting diamonds. What do ya think?

Really? Good to know... only thing we thought would be good is saving on tax and all. We got a great deal on the watches, but I know that's different.

WOW, I never even thought of that!!! I do know a knottie bought her bands while docked at a port during a cruise....but I can't remember who or where
That would be something neat to do though......I bet you would find a lot of different designs ;) Worth looking into

I bought a few pieces of jewelry in St. Thomas.
Everything appraised for almost double in the States.
Just make sure you go to a reputable place and ask some locals where they suggest.

well, for me, anyway. I buy all of my jewelry Downtown NYC, and never pay tax.
In fact, my wedding band is a little over a carat total weight, set in 18k white gold, and it was under $500.

Diamonds are hard to get a good deal on as jewelers do not make much on them to begin with. If you do want to look in Aruba I suggest Gemani. My company sells to them. Godd luck and have a great time in Aruba.

FH & I each got a nice piece of jewelry while in Aruba...they have a whole street of stores...but you might want to go to someone close by for your wedding bands...because if you ever have any problems with them you don't want to have to ship them, right?

Fh got my engagement ring in St Thomas while we were on a cruise. he told me he got a really good deal. Friends of ours bought their wedding bands there also, they got them for much cheaper than in NY
