By how many people were you under your Minimum?

Other than vendors being 1/2 price, did your hall not charge you for the 'no's'.?

My sister was about 10 people under her minimum, and I suggested that she ask them to give her some extras for that money. Like, the lighitng in the hall that cost $500, they gave it to her, and something else.

I know in my contract I'm required to pay that amount whehter or not everyone shows up, but I asked and they did say that if we were short, the money could go toward something else, like a sushi station etc. Ask them if they can give you anything for the money, so that way, they're still getting the amount of money you were contracted for, but at least you're getting something for it.

Yes, thank you very much. That is a great idea. I will have to ask my Banquet Manager that if I am under, if there is something they can compensate me for. If they cant refund any money, I'd be happy enough for them to at least give me an extra something. Lets hope they agree to it. I know a contract is a contract....but its hard to pre-assume exactly who will come.

I just did a very strict 'no' list in my head and assumed the people who could possibly say no which would be under my minimum. I just want to prepare myself in case this happens...
