My brother called 12/31 and siad his wife is 1 cm diliated, and that if she does not have the baby by January 8th (her due date) they will be inducing on the 9th, it is already set up. THey say the baby is 8lbs 5oz, and they don't want her to get any bigger.

I am an Aunt already, but on my DH's side, this seems more special, since it is my brother's child!! THe only thing that stinks is the live in Celebration, FL, so I can't see her anytime I want.

So funny you said this. When we told Steve's family that we were expecting his sister said 'YEAH, I'm going to be a real aunt' She already has like 12 nieces and nephews on her DH side.

One of my nieces is also my god child, and it was before we were engaged, but still my new niece feels a little different.

There is something different about it most definatly!! My nephew on FH side was born in May 2001, my neice (my brothers daughter) was born September 2001. I love them both so much but there is something special about my neice and my new nephew. First I love looking at them and seeing how they look like me or my dad, etc. Also I love seeing my brother, the pain I grew up with as a DAD. I also love teaching my neice new things that annoy my brother!!!
I thought they settled on Michelle, but my dad said as of the other day, they were undecided again.
My brother doesn't want Michelle becasue it is my name, and he feels that people will think it is becasue of me even though that is not the reason, so who knows!
