I think he's overated! But I do feel bad for him because they embrassed him.

I'm really upset about this. I def think they disrespected him and i just wish the boss could change his way of thinking, but that will never happen. The only good that come out of it is Mattingly will take his spot...

i'm upset.. but i'm glad he said NO.. f*** you... haha... he's a great manager... even FH said.. (mind u he's such a big met fan) good for torre.. he doesn't deserve that.. Steinbrenner had no right to say what he said to Torre about him getting fired... he's an a$$hole.. i love the yankees but i dont love Steinbrenner...

You know your losing a great manager when even the players are wishing he would stay. I love him for some reason ... he just represents the Yankees in some way. I feel like they're falling apart..they're losing their heart.

BTW - I'm a bad fan lolz..I cheer for the Mets and the Yankees lolz..my mother and brothers are like fanatic Mets fans and my FH is a CRAZY Yankees fan..so to avoid complications..I just love both! hehe..

I think he made the right choice....George didn't treat him right so I am glad that he turned down his offer....but I am also sad to see him go... he was a good coach and I think it wasn't all his fault they have not been the 'typical' Yankees....the whole organizations needs a face lift.

I just finished watching Torre's press conference on Ch. 2 (they stopped coverage just in time for Dr. Phil!!! LOL)

Anyway, I'm a die-hard Mets fan (season ticket holder and all), and I honestly do my best to avoid any Yankee news, but I totally think Torre got the short end of the deal on this.

If Steinbrenner wanted to get rid of him, I think he should've just fired him the day after the ALDS instead of letting the guy hang for 10 days and then giving him a bogus contract.

Anyway, I think Joe Girardi would be a kick-*** manager, but if he had personality conflicts with the owner of the Marlins, I can only imagine what kind of conflicts he'd have with this front office!

Torre is a class act though..really took the high road in his press conference, which is probably hard for him to do.
