my hubby has had our phone set up through the cabel. This is pretty new, and I dont know how well it will work out. So far it seems ok, it should only be 40$ for local and long distance unlimited. But if the cabel goes out, so does my phone. Any feedback on this?

we're going to get this soon .. just signed up for it. we just set it up at SIL's place through Vonage. So far so good .. free long distance anywhere in the US and Canada and cheap international calls as well. Haven't had any problems yet .. but it hasn't been too long yet. neways, DH is pretty confident about it so we'll see how it does

we were thinking about getting it, but his IO goes out constantly, so we are going to wait & see how reliable it is....

My friends have it and love it. They say that the quality is good and that they talk within the states all they want. They also said there are no extra fees involved or anything like that. Right now I pay for my cellphone to be completely unlimited so I don't have it yet. But as soon that my contract is over...which will be within 1 or 2 months..I am planning to get a cable phone.
ETA: That their cable phone is through IO.

We have it. Vonage. We only pay 28$ a month for it, but you do have to buy the equptment as well as a splitter. Our phone doesn't work sometimes, it drops phone calls and sometimes when people call us it goes straight to voice mail which is annoying. I hear though since its a new service they are just working out the kinks. you can't beat the price!

We just got it and I LOVE IT!! We had Vonage and HATED IT!! too many fees, very unreiable!! the CAbel phone seems to be working out really well!! Now we just have to change our number with EVERYONE!!!
