we currently have the IO digital cable. It seems so expensive to have a cable modem for the internet through cablevision. Does anyone know of a less expensive service, or any other options of quicker internet? going through the phone is so slow.?

I think the only options are phone service, DSL or Cable - Cable's definitely the fastest

You wont get any faster than optimum online - they don't cap your speeds (like most providers do)
DSL may be a bit cheaper - but probably not much, and the cheaper options will definitely be slower than what you have now.

verizon dsl may not be worth the 10 dollors a month less to switch.... it would be 15 less if you sign up with them for long distance and internet i think (you may need a cell phone with them also)
Cablevision is a great service and highly popular due to the speeds.. alot of people outside our area complain cause they pay the same price but get 20% of the the speed we get.
