Caiden just wouldn't stop crying!

Caiden just wouldn't stop crying!

It started at 6:00pm last night, then it continued all through the night. He would cry so loud too. He'd cry when you hold him, then he'd fall asleep, you put him down, then he'd start crying again. It just kept repeating. He wanted to eat every 45 min. - 1 hour. Then I started crying myself. (Don't know why... I guess I was frustrated) He doesn't sleep good, his gas is bad, he's always grunting. We don't know what to do for him. I feel so helpless! But it's also making mommy cranky because I can't sleep, or get anything done, I'm exhausted! Could he be having a growth spurt (like he needs one ) or is it just the gas? Maybe both! I don't know how to make us both feel better?

I don't have advice since Lukie was formula fed and there was a period of adjusting the formulas but I just want to offer a big I have so been there and I remember vividly what it was like when I read your post. Luke was very colicky and a real crier in the beginning. It really will get better.

I dont know anything about colick, we did not have that to deal with that, but i remember the sleepless nights, the tears (mine and DS) and the general feeling of I cant do this.
So here's a hug to help you along

we thought Sophia was colicky but still aren't sure. She has calmed down tremendously since we changed her formula over and I think my own milk supply has increased. So we are thinking it was either dairy intolerance or that she was hungry.

We tried everything on those nights though and I can tell you a few things that work. You can give them a try.

Put Caiden in his carseat on top of the dryer.
Run the vacuum.
Whistle
Take him for a ride
Invest in a sound machine
Give him the booby and see if he calms down and nods off.

If none of these do the trick there is a product out therre for colicky babies that attaches to the underneath of the crib and simulates the movement of a car going 50 mph. Supposedly this does the trick.

Sorry I can't be of more help. Just know that colic or not, we have all had those nights and never know when another one is on the horizon. I have sat just sobbing and I have definitely 'slept' if you can call it that while holding Sophia. Its really frustrating.
