Went to Black Forrest today with FH and we booked our cake. We had plans of doing a cupcake cake but after looking at all the cakes in Christina's book we went with that - so excited!!!!!
4 tiers - octagon, round, octagon, square.. so i still got a little bit of funk to it
fondant
2 layers are yellow cake with rasberry and bannana moose
2 layers are chocolate cake with strawberries and cookies n' cream moose
I get to pick up a sample cake (that feeds 8) tomorrow for FREE!!!!!!!!!! FH bought some pasteries and they were awesome!!!!
We havent had a check in a while so this feels great!

Yay Congrats on your check!
Just a quick question though. Did she offer you a tasting when booking? When we went to pick out our cake she told us no, and I was really put off with that. I wanted to try 2 filling and she said they don't normally do that.

We honestly didn't ask LOL I wasnt expecting to taste anything. FH asked about what fondant tastes like and he asked to try it but she said we get the free cake so he was fine w/ it and i was too.
Cake wasnt really my top priority and with it being a fully functioning bakery im assuming their cakes done taste like cardboard LOL
if it was someone out of their home i would have been more about tasting

No tasting? I wouldnt want to book a vendor without tasting it personally ... especially since a wedding cake is over $500! We went to La Bonne Boulangerie, Dortonis, Leonettis and Cardinallis - all allowed us to have a tasting.
