Why am I being picky and can't decide on a cake cutter and server?
I'm thinking of buying the Waterford Ballet Ribbon one to match the flatware I registed for. But, the flatware is matte and the set is not so that is annoying me.
Please post pics of yours and where you got one. I really need to get this soon!
Thanks!!!

Re: Cake Cutter and Server
I bought a relatively inexpensive pair off theknot.com this week. I'm not sure it matches my flatware at all!

Someone gave us a Lenox set as an engagement gift. I don't remember what pattern it is. I remember liking it when I opened it though.

I wasn't going to get a set. I can't find one I actually like at all (I never knew how picky I could be!) -- there's one set from Things Remembered that I liked, but it was like $85 plus personalization and it just wasn't worth that to me! I figured I'd just get a cake server someday when I find myself serving pies or something. I don't see why I need a special one at our wedding.

I registered for the ones that match my china. Even if no one buys them as a gift for us, I will still get them so I can use them in the future.
Some RH's have ones you can use so you don't have to buy one if you don't want to spend the extra $$$.

Thats mine too. I didn't pick it, someone gave it to us as an e-party present. But I love it, so we are using it. We aren't using the toasting flutes that go with it though. I actually have two sets of toasting flutes, one from my e-party and one from my shower, neither which are Lenox Forevermore.

Re: Cake Cutter and Server
I have the Ballet Ribbon one also with the matte flatware. Honestly, I'm not going to use the cake cutter as much as the flatware, so to me it's not a huge deal that they're slightly different.
Besides, when I'm cutting the cake at my wedding, my flatware won't be there

I know my flatware won't be there but I wish they had that set in matte because I prefer it. I'll probably end up purchasing it anyway.

Originally I wasn't going to purchase a set because I felt it was an unnecessary expense but then I saw this cute set while I was at the Wrap With Us store in Syosset for $10 and bought it.
