Cake cutter set

So I have my knife and cake server set (we actually won it) My question is this, do we get it engraved or not? FH doesn't see the reason behind it. I thought its what you do with them. But then again what do I know? Is it personal preference? Or tradition?? TIA

Re: Cake cutter set

I think it's a nice thing to do but not necessary. I got mine as a gift and I'm not going to have it engraved.

Re: Cake cutter set

We engraved ours so its more of a keepsake after the wedding, but you don't necessarily have to if you don't want it. We loved our cake cutter set and wanted it done.

Re: Cake cutter set

you dont have to but i did. we got our set as a gift for my shower and i had them engraved with our names and date at Things Remembered. i plan on putting them on display in our china cabinet along with our toasting flutes (which i also had engraved with our initials). i'm very sentimental.

Re: Cake cutter set

Your own choice.
Maybe just a monogram if you choose.
