My hall gave us a form to fill out about which traditions we are using & in what order. one part said: Bride & groom cutting the cake?
Bride & groom feeding cake to each other?
Can we really do one with out the other? I'd like to do the cutting, but FH thinks the feeding part is weird & I agree, I 'd be a little nervous/embarased.
How would that work? Do we just cut it then sit down? Has anyone else done this?

Yes, we did this. Basically we posed next to the cake and then cutting it, everyone took their pictures and they took it away and served it. I didn't want to do the feeding either!!

I know, people keep saying you don't have to do anything you don't want to do, but soemtimes it takes a while for that sink in!

we didnt do it either. we actually didnt even want to cut it on the dance floor but we gave in to that. we figured who really wants to see us stuffing our faces when we could all be dancing

yup - if you don't want to do it, you don't have to. I have seen lots of brides and grooms cutting out stuff they don't like. For instance, I was at one wedding where the bride tossed the bouquet - but there was no garter toss. If you don't want to do it - don't!

wow! I didn't know it was optional...I thought that was just the way it was done. Not for nothing I don't want anyone screaming that we should smash it in each other's faces either!

We don't want to do the feeding part either. But I thought it would be weird to do one w/out the other. We want pics of the cake cutting part but I agree, I don't like the feeding part! I'm so glad I saw this post!
