We are probably going to have New York, NY as the last song. (It has nothing to do with being the end of the night, it's just a great memory I have of my cousin that passed away last year).

We are not sure about the cake cutting song maybe Sugar Sugar?

I used 'That's Amore' by Dean Martin for cake cutting and 'Time of My Life' from Dirty Dancing as the last song.

I didn't know Nat King Cole sang 'LOVE' -- isn't that the song that's on some car commercial?

We are having 'The Bride Cuts the Cake' for the cake cutting ceremony and our last song is 'Thank You For Being a Friend (theme song to Golden Girls), but our final song of the night is going to God Bless the U.S.A., since our DJ hands out little american flags and we did not want God Bless America.

sonic - my sister saw one recently where they used The Candyman for the cake cutting. She said it was cute. Last dance i haven't even thought of -good luck - let me know what you come up with!

We also gave out flags, since our wedding was 6 weeks after 9/11. My husband insisted on it, but it had to be to a James Brown song -- 'Living in America' -- which I hate, but it was his night too! The flags were a big hit with everyone!!!!

We used We Are In Love by Harry Connick Jr. for our cake cutting. It had nothing to do with cake... I just love the song!

Our last song was Last Dance, for cheesy reasons I'd rather not embarass myself by repeating!

I wanted to use the Friends theme song for our last song but my FI didn't like the idea. We are using Heaven must have sent you by Bonnie Pointer. It is not your usual last dance song but it is really upbeat and has a last dance kind of feeling.

I never thought about 'Living in America'. My fiance wants God Bless the USA. I think that everyone uses God Bless America and we are trying to be different. Also, when we get married (9/18/04), it will be a week after the third anniversary and that is going to be something that no one ever forgets.

Aug9... We used Heaven Must Have Sent You for our intro, and loved it! It's a great song to get people dancing.

We totally forgot to put a last dance song on our list! So, of course the DJ played 'Last Dance' and I was disappointed.

Bearsbabe - L-O-V-E is in a Chrysler commerical but its a song that is at least 50 years old. Its one of Nat King Cole's most popular songs.

This was so cute!! My sister in-law played 'Movin' on up' the theme song to the Jeffersons! It was alot of fun everyone was clapping and really having a good time with it! And it was different no one ever played it so it was great.
The last song(s) were 'Sweet Caroline' by Neil Diamond -great bar song -and all the friends were in a circle on the dance floor singing and 'Time of your life' by Green Day. We had alot of fun because it was different.

My cake cutting song was 'Happy Together' by the Turtles. Our last song was 'time to Say Goodbye' by Sarah Brightman, and Andrea Bocelli.

As of now, we are going to use I Wanna Grow Old with You from the Wedding Singer for cake cutting (good choice, Kimmie)

End of the night-probably Kind and Generous (Natalie Merchant). My FH is a big fan of hers, and it seems to capture the mood we're looking to end the party with.

P.S. Stef, L-O-V-E is a very sweet song. FH and I are big oldies fans. We sing this song to each other all of the time, but depending on our mood we add lyrics (you can imagine). It would have made a great first dance song for us, but I'd crack up thinking of some of the lyrics we've made up for each other...
