Cake Decorating

I'd like to start experimenting with decorating cakes. What are some good tools to buy to make designs in the icing etc?

You can go to Micheals and get the Wiltons cake decorating starter kit. I think it comes iwth like 18 tips and a few disposable bags, as well as a little book explaining some techniques and some icing coloring. I use the wiltons icing when I am doing designs because I have found is a little stiffer than what you get in the grocery store which makes it easier to work with. Also the white icing is nice because you can dye it different colors. There is a lot a kit you can get that has practice boards to make different designs like flowers and leaves etc and after you are done, the boards wipe clean!

Micheals or AC Moore have cake decorating sections Party City carries some of the Wilton stuff but not as much as the other two. Micheals also has cake decorating classes.

Thanks! I will check out Michaels.
