cake fillings

I saw the messages about cakes, but i could use some ideas for cake fillings/flavors. I'm going to use buttercream icing, but what should i do inside?

We had a chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling and white buttercream frosting. Our reception site provided the cake and it was delicious!

but Im not sure it would go over that well, I personally don't like it...

I have no clue about our wedding cake yet. But, I have a question. My fiance doesn't even like cake. He likes ice cream cake. What do I do with this one? I told him he'd have to have some of his own wedding cake, right?

We are having a yellow cake with chocolate mousse and canolli filling. We are using a form of whipped cream instead of buttercream for icing. Buttercream always seems very gritty and leaves a really bad taste in my mouth so we opted for a lighter icing.

We had chocolate cake with chocolate pudding filling and a whipped cream icing. People loved it - the chocolate is a little different.

My sister had a five tier cake and each tier was a different filling and flavor. People loved the variety. Two of the tiers had chocolate cake with a layer pf chocolate ganosh (sp) and a layer of raspberry filling. Another tier was carrot cake with cream cheese filling, another was vanilla cake with lemon filling, and vanilla cake with orange fillng.
