We're doing chocolate cake with buttercream frosting.... there are three layers of filling -- the top and bottom will be chocolate mousse and the middle layer will be fresh strawberries in pasty cream. it's delish!
we're having all of the tiers the same....
[We're using collette foley and she recommended to have all of the tiers be the same.... otherwise, a) the tiers are different sizes and there will be different servings of each flavor... so for example if the bottom tier is chocolate mousse there may be 60 servings of that, and if the next tier is strawberry filling, there may be 40 servings of that... and b) then how do you decide who is getting what flavors?] but i can totally see wanting different flavors in the tiers too....

I am SO with you on that! I don't like cake fillings, I'd rather have ice cream haha
This is why I'm thinking of doing a cupcake wedding cake

choc. cake with choc. mousse filling and a layer of rasberry preserves. Buttercream icing (although i really wanted whipped cream icing, but FH was having none of that )

Lemon curd with strawberry filling. Chocolate mousse is being served as the dessert, in addition to the cake, and I'm a fruit person anyway.

we're having a 3 tier layer cake.... each slice will have 3 layers of chocolate cake, with one chocolate mousse, and one layer of mocha buttercream....

Im doing each layer a different flavor...
One layer will be chocolate cake with coffee, hazelnut and mocha buttercream filling.
The other layer will be vanilla cake with rasberry, strawberry, and apricot filling if i remeber correctly.
