Cake Fillings

Cake Fillings

Hey everyone...I want to know what everyone's cake fillings are. I have an appointment with Collette Peters and don't know what fillings I want. I like buttercream instead of whipped cream...Does anyone know what kind of filling people would prefer with buttercream cakes. Please send me your opinions. Thanks in advance!

I am doing a buttercream icing with a chocholate mousse filler....I am doing a half and half cake. 1 half bridal white, with the filler in between and then marble...so excited it was sooo tasty! good luck!

That sounds yummy. I was thinking of a yellow cake but have no idea of filling. I personally do not like cannoli, so that definitely is out!

then i would just wait until you do the tasting. See which flavors she makes best, and dont worry about cannoli bc thats not a typical flavor she does. She will suggest what goes best, usually for wedding cakes they say to go lighter and if you do yellow cake then think of a lighter filling. I am doing yellow poundcake with baileys cream and sourdough cake with raspberries and chocolate truffles.

maybe a ganache filling with fresh fruit, that goes well with buttercream

our filling is chocolate chip cannolli cream

we are using whipped cream frosting b/c butter cream would be too sweet/heavy/rich for my tastes combined with the filling.

I really would like to taste the yellow cake with hazelnut filling. I heard that tastes good. not to sure about a fruit filling, as my FH hates fruit fillings. but I like your idea of the ganache.

try it, should be good. My fh is allergic to hazelnut so we didnt taste it. FH is also allergic to fruit but the baileys cream is for him, and he tasted some of the raspberries with chocolate truffles and he was fine lol, but it was just a few bites so have to make sure he doesnt eat more.

White chocolate ganache is great too
