I originally planned on doing a winter cake with pine cones, but as of last week I changed my mind. My wedding theme is a winter wonderland. My centerpieces are branches. Invitations had snowflakes. Our colors are mauve and gray/silver.
I found a cake on here that I love. Ive decided I want to do something similar. (Ill post the pictures as soon as I can make them smaller) However, for the first cake i post- do i do 4 layers (as shown) or 3? I will use mauve ribbon instead of red. I do not want the black design, can someone recommend any other ideas? The second one is similar to another i considered- i just loved the simpleness and elegance
As far as how many tiers I guess it would depend on how many people you're serving but I like the second cake better it's simple, pretty and elegant like you said.

yup, your bakery will ask you your guest count and they will tell you if you need 3 or 4 layers. You also can add elements of both cakes, like the cross pattern and mauve ribbon in the first, and the round tiers and bling banding in the second. Bring these photos on your cake tasting if you haven't gone yet

I really like the 1st cake. I guess because I like square better than round. Also I think the mauve ribbon with the bling would look really pretty. I love the idea of the snowflake design instead of the black like the other bride suggested. Even if you can't find a pic, bring up the idea with the baker and maybe they have examples or can come up with a design for you.
