FH's aunt wanted to buy them for us as an engagement gift and his brother and wife purchased the toasting flutes that match. These are them:
Waterford Lismore Toasting Flutes and the Ballet Ribbon Cake Knife & Server. That is exactly what I have. They are beautiful!

I guess it depends on whether you intend on reusing them again. My FH and I plan on using them once a year on our anniversaries ( we made a promise to always buy a small cake and crack open a bottle of champagne and I bought some really expensive ones with crystals so we BETTER use them again..if you don't intend on reusing them you can find really afforable ones on wedding websites like theknot shop

I don't think you need to buy them; IMO they are nice to have and keep in the house. But my parents got them for us as a gift, so if I had to purchase them, I might be singing a different tune lol

Re: Cake knife and server
If I would've known I could borrow them from the RH I wouldn't have purchased my own. Still, no big deal. I bought Lenox toasting flutes though thinking I'd have them forever.

Re: Cake knife and server
I wound up registering for the knife and server and toasting flutes that matched my china...hopefully someone will buy them for me and if not, I will go pick them up before the wedding.
I figured they would match our china and we will definitely use the knife and server in the future!
