So I am getting my cake through the catering call b/c that is what they do there. Which is fine, however, for you brides who have been in the same situation, what should I expect? Ihave been looking at the cake thread and think that every cake on there is beautiful, but do they offer cakes like that at catering halls? Do I get 3 choices or do i get 9 choices? Do i get choices on fillings and icings and what nots?

Re: Cake question
you usually get a selection of cakes, fillings, decor, etc.......just not a very LARGE selection..just as long as you're not too particular about what you want

Re: Cake question
At the Riviera, our cake is included in the price. They told us they use the 'Black Forest Bakery'. I had said, I have a cake and filling in mind. They said that when the time comes, I can call them directly and arrage for it to be done as I wish and no questions asked. The cake on that day will be delievered to the Riviera.

Re: Cake question
My catering hall is doing my cake and they said there are choices for the flavor and filling and then I can have it decorated any way I want! They showed me a book containing pictures of cakes that they have done there.

Re: Cake question
I know I have a choice of cake and fillings, and my coordinator at EMJC said they will make any cake 'within reason'. I have no idea exactly what that means!

Re: Cake question
It depends tremendously on which hall you have booked. At the Harbor Club, we could get whatever we wanted for a design, as long as it was 4tiers. And we had a choice of 12 fillings & 4 different kinds of cake. We had a choice of fondant, buttercream, or whipped cream (we chose the fondant b/c it wasn't too sugary) also, we could have had marzipan icing for an additional fee.
