Ok...this maybe a silly question, but, how does the cake work? Meaning,,,you pick the cake you want with the RH when picking the rest of the menu? and also, can you choose from cake 'designs'? My RH uses Rolling Pin..
That's what i'm thinking. TVI sent me a few sample cake pictures and they were nice. I'm thinking you can tell them what you want...at least i hope.
Yes RH's usually have pictures of what they offer and you just pick the one you want. Do a cake tasting first, cuz you may find that you may want to use an outside bakery, if it's within your budget.
FH and I were discussing this last night, then we sighed at the prospect of having to call our BM yet again this week for the information. I know at least with our RH the couple is contacted a month before to go over menu and logistics, but I am wondering if we could do that sooner in case we need to get an outside baker. Their food is amazing, just hope the cake is, too!

Our RH used Black Forest Bakery - we went to the bakery and looked through their books of pictures to come up with the design and to order the flavors that we wanted and just paid them for the upgrades that we ordered.
From what I understand, you can choose your cake (as long as you're willing to pay for anything 'extra' that you might want). BTW, LOVE the Rolling Pin! Some of their wedding cakes are breathtakingly gorgeous.
rolling pin has a website with the pictures of the cakes you can chose from, there are upgrade pictures too. you can do a cake tasking with them at anytime but its done by ordering online through the website. they charge a fee. they said you can change the colors of the cakes they offer. email them and they will given you more info.. hth
