Who puts the flowers on the cake if you want flowers??? Your Florist?? Or the Baker??? When I went to the Bakery last weekend, he said he would do it... But I want the flowers to match my other flowers... I didn't even know the bakeries did this. I thought it was the florist's job...
Did anyone else come across this???

the florist supplies the flowers. i'm not too sure who puts them on the cake...i'm thinking the florist does it when thry're doing the other setting up at the hall

the baker, the florist or the BM for the RH. Our florist charges extra for them to decorate the cake.

I actually booked my florist two days ago and he said he decorates the cake with flowers. Hope that helps.

My florist did it. She decorated the hall and then went in the fridge and decorated the cake.

MY FLORIST GAVE THE FLOWERS FOR THE CAKE TO THE HALL AND THE HALL PUT THEM ON

so if I'm getting a simple cake made, where the main attraction is the flowers, it's not even the baker that does that? It's someone else? interesting...
This is the one I want (but a heart shaped cake)... I hope whoever it is puts the flowers on right!
I think I want my florist to do it.... He doesn't charge extra thank goodness...

My florist is giving me the petals and my baker is going to put them on the cake when they set it up.

Worked in a flower shop for several years.
We would always ask the bride if she would like the cake decorated. If she did, it's an additional cost for the flowers, and time. If so, we would go and decorate the cake when we were setting up the rest of the reception room. If she had a particular cascade, or cluster, etc. in mind, or had a picture we would work from that.
Never ran in to the case where the baker would decorate with flowers...

He may have ment you provide the flowers and he'll put them on for you. And if thats not what he ment you can tell him so, or tell him you rather the florest do it.

Our florist did but at first I dind't want them to so they said they would leave them for the M'D to put them on my cake. The florist ended up doing it because the gave me a cake topper that I wanted.

my florist is the one that asked me if i was having flowers on my cake and told me he would take care of delivering the flowers to the bakery but that the baker actually placed them on the cake. this might be different at different places though because my florist, hall, and bakery are all owned by the same company... besides that, i didn't really get the specifics because i'm not having flowers on my cake so once i told him that he pretty much moved on to other things.

the baker drops off the cake at the hall. The florist puts on the flowers while they are setting up everything else. I would stick with letting the florist take care of it because they know how to make it look the best.
