Cake Servers

Cake Servers

I keep seeing these personalized cake servers and I think I remember seeing them frequently as items to register for.

I'm wondering how many people buy these? I know you have the traditional cake-cutting picture but do you really need to go buy a fancy one with your initials on it, etc

My FMIL is buying the set for us. I was just going to buy a nice simple set to have as a memento.

We didn't get any. SIL told me how hers from their wedding sit in a box in their house and she has NEVER used them in almost 5 years. I didn't see any reason to (we're not big cake people). We juse used the ones the hall gave us.

Re: Cake Servers

It's not a necessity; I do want to get a nice set because I love to bake cakes and pies. However, if it wasn't already tied to a hobby of mine, I'd forego it and use what the hall had.

I bought an inexpensive set from Joann's but I put the nice cake server set on our registry for someone to get as a gift.

I put the one the matches my silverware on my registry. My aunt bought it for us as an e-gift.

Re: Cake Servers

I may actually be borrowing my brother and SIL's serving set.

If you don't want to buy them, you can always register for it. My friend who got married last year registered for her caker servers and her toasting flutes (and i was the one who actually bought them for her).

Re: Cake Servers

In my family, things like serving sets and toasting flutes are often received as gifts at the bridal shower. I know my mom is buying me a set of toasting flutes, just not sure which ones. As for cake serving sets- I told her not to bother that I'd just use the ones JT provides. Of course that's always an option!
