Re: Cake topper??
I'm painting wooden peg dolls to look like Fh & I, then attaching them to a wooden base. There are a ton of these toppers on etsy and I like how simple they are.

Are you ladies taking your fh last name? Sorry if too personal. I think you should do it. I don't think its too much.

Re: Cake topper??
I am torn. I really love my last name and I have worked so hard to get to where I am in my career. I did it with my last name and my parents. My last name stops with my sister and I. However, my fh really wants me to take his name.

Re: Cake topper??
FH doesn't particularly like his last name, so it was a non-issue for us. His dad, however, is being a really big pain in the you know what about it

You could always hyphenate, no? I'm am taking FH, but might keep my last name at work.
edit.. I'm a teacher so the kids know me by my last name. I might wait till the next school year to officially change my name over.

Re: Cake topper??
I'm doing the Channa Plaque on my sweetheart table and the 'cake topper' next to the cake, maybe you can do that if you think it is too much on one table?
As far as taking my FH's last name, I am absolutely doing that. I'm going to go from an L to a Z, and my students tell me that they don't like it because my new last name will sound like 'slinky' I'm non-traditional in a lot of ways, but I do believe in taking your husband's last name. But that's a personal decision, and I can see where the other girls are coming from.

Re: Cake topper??
Thats a good idea but I think it maybe too long then! Maybe I can keep my name in my career and use his name otherwise? I'm not sure if thats allowed. If we have kids they will take his name. I don't know if that will confuse them as much as it confuses me lol
