Cake Topper- Update with response from wedding factory direct

Original post by KrisD72310

Update: This is their response to my email saying that the stand is incorrect. I'm so annoyed!!! How can you put it in at an angle without it clearly looking retarded? Not happy with weddingfactorydirect.com!!

Kristina,
After looking at the pictures that you sent I am not sure what you are seeing as an issue with the letter S. The only difference I can see from the font map to the cake topper is the angle of the letter. They can be place in the cake at any angle, so that should not be a problem. There is no defect with the letter itself as the design matches exactly to what is shown.

So my weddingfactorydirect cake topper came in today. I was so excited and when I opened the box was like, 'what the heck is this?' It looks so small to me. I checked the measurement and it is definitely the large one although the width doesn't match up.

Here's my issue.
1) It looks small to me (pic next to BB)
2) The S doesn't match the font that they showed on the website. Supposed to be more slanted.

Obviously it's all sales final. So what do you girls think????????

Should I go to topperswithglitz and spend over $100 on one or keep my $30 one??????

maybe if you cut off the left prong you can insert it into the cake on a slant to look more like the pic?

Sending you an FM

i think this might work. good luck

Ugh, that s*cks. I would try cutting one of the prongs off and seeing how that works. Again, you're more than welcome to borrow mine after I'm done with it if you want.

Awww, thanks so much Laura. That's so sweet of you. My florist told me to show it to her and she said that she would put it in the cake on a slant for me and set it up. Maybe with flowers around it it won't be as noticeable? I don't know though. I just think it'll look silly with one prong in the cake and one clearly sticking out off to the side.

Maybe I am naive, but can't you just put it in the cake at the desired angle? That seems to be what they are suggesting . . . no?

Since it's a two pronged stand you absolutely CANNOT put it in at 'any' angle...on a slant, you'll see part of the stand sticking out.

That's exactly what I thought. It's going to look stupid.

I even turned the computer at an angle to look at the S as though it was placed in the cake at an angle, and it still looks off, the long line part of the S is straighter than it is in the font sample. I would write back and tell them that you are still not satisfied and want it remedied.
