cake upgrades

Did anyone get one? If you don't mind telling, how much did you pay?

I paid 150 for fondant and 50 for square.

We had fondant, red velvet, carrot cake, cream cheese frosting, and a ribbon fee or something stupid like that. I thing it was for 140 people. We paid $400. Audrey's.

We haven't done this yet but from the weddings I've been to...fondant looks beautiful but tastes nasty. Lol. It's so gross. I'm just going to ask to just make it as smooth as possible using buttercream or something!

I paid an extra 100 to upgrade to red velvet! Sooo worth it!

If I remember correctly you're getting married at the EW right? Everyone looooved my cake and I didn't get any upgrades. I can find a pic of it if you want and the particulars of what I ordered, because of course I can't remember right now.

Yes the fondant does taste nasty, but made the cake so smooth and perfect. Our cake, people still swear it is fake and that they ate plain sheet cake that was cut up in the back.

I was worried about this because I had fondant on my shower cake and was like Oh this is sooo pretty but tastes blech!
I bit into my wedding cake -- DH made sure to give me a huge piece that had a large chunk of fondant on it -- IT WAS DELISH!!! I remember saying to DH Oh this is good! Thank god! And people that I've spoken to about this said they ate the entire piece and it was soooo yummy! People were asking for seconds!
