Cakes and beach themes...?

Cakes and beach themes...?

My FH pretty much rejected my pick for the cake, and since he really hasn't had many opinions throughout the planning I thought I would try to find a cake that he likes.

I've been looking for cakes that have a beach theme, and have only been able to find one picture on-line. Does anyone have a picture to share?

Thanks ladies!

Look for the Martha Stewart seashell cake. It is beautiful. It is ice blue fondant with sea shells surrounding it. My friend had this at her beach themed wedding and it was a work of art.

There is one on Audrey's Bakery web site
http://www.audreybakes.com/

Look on the left hand side at the cake pics -- it's toward the bottom. Don't know if this is the same pic or not.

Audrey's does the cakes for Loven Oven Catering faclities as well as Lessing's facilities.

Re: Cakes and beach themes...?

Here is a cake topper that I found (and bought) on ebay.

Re: applesfla...

I had seen your previous post about the cake topper, and loved it. I searched ebay for another one, but couldn't find it. Is there a name of the manufacturer on it or anything that may help me find it?

I really love the idea of a theme, but honestly I'm not that organized or creative, but I thought a beach theme cake would be okay on it's own since we'll be on the water.

Thanks again for your help.

Jen

Re: applesfla...

I wasn't able to find the same cake topper but I do think the woman I got it from sells them every once and awhile. I don't know who makes it, it doesn't have any markings on it. But I did find another topper that you might like...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1745015181

If you want to check back on ebay at another time to see if she is selling anymore her screen name is whimsygal88 and my topper was listed as Beachy Bride & Groom beach wedding cake top.

I didn't think I was going to do any kind of theme either because I thought it would be too much work and would stress me out too much but everytime I went to find something I wound up liking the things that seemed to fit with a beach/ocean theme...it all just seems to fall into place.

Good luck to you

Re: applesfla...

I will check it out when I get home. Our computer people here at work got smart and blocked out ebay completely

Thanks for the information!

Re: Cakes and beach themes...?

I just found a post on the Wedding Channel, which I don't frequent except when work is really boring

So for those ladies looking it's under WeddingChannel Message Board > Planning > Cakes & Flowers > *Pics of Seashell Cakes*

Thanks again ladies for your help.

Happy planning.

Re: Cakes and beach themes...?

You can also check out Jacqueline's Patisseire (sp?) in Babylon on Main Street. They created a sandcastle cake that was simply AWESOME for my finacee's brother's wedding!

Willow, I'll have to check where I found it...I have all the info at home. I think it was a place down here in Florida but I'll check and get you their web site.
