Re: CAKES CAKES CAKES
This one looks sooo pretty and so different..I wish you could see the detail better!!
OMG! Awesome! You are going to LOVE him!! When I was there we tasted his 3 most popular cakes, carrot cake, white cake w/ chocolate-raspberry truffle and chocolate cake with raspberry. I dunno what he'll have you taste but either way, it's all outrageous.

Denise...are you going to use Dortoni's as your baker? I must be honest...I didn't read all the posts just looked at the pics (which some I saved in my Wedding file!). Does Dortoni's make some of the cakes you are thinking about? I adore them!!!
Side note.......my sister used to make me line up outside Dortoni's at 3 am on Easter Sunday so I'd get the freshest Italian bread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JMO...I'd make an appointment to talk to them and see their own pics. When I saw my bakerys website I was petrified, then we went to the bakery and saw what was walking out of them place and our minds were at ease!
What other places are you looking at? I tried to look at Charm City Cakes (Ace of Cakes on Food Network) by the time I looked at them 6 months ago they said that they had stopped taking orders for my wedding weekend....

well i was going to check out colette peters but i procrastinated and you have to book at least 6 months in advance and now im screwed hahaha.
Yeah i guess i can check them out but regardless i would have to pay dortoni's bc it wouldnt be part of the cakes JT offers. From what i know alot of bakeries can't do more of the unique fondant cake shapes. In long island the other place besides the one i am going to check out is audreys, i was gonna go to audreys but i found somebody else who i think can do what we want. Ill tell FH to stop by dortoni's maybe to double check
but YEAH all those big named cake designers get booked far in advance, you have to book at least 6 months...the guy im going to just won a foodnetwork cake competition, it airs in march so yeah i am going NOW before his name gets big and his prices go up lol

Did Jay win a Food Network Challenge??? If that is who you are talking about...his work is amazing!!! After seeing Jess' grooms cake, Audrey's has my vote!!! I swear that jersey looked incredibly real! Either way good luck on the baker hunt...I must admit I was blessed with my RH's vendors!!!
