Denise would you mind FMing me the info you FMed futuremulligan? I would love ot know what to tell the bakery and make it less than a normal fondant cake!!! And also I want to have a cake similar to the pic i posted....does JT cakes have to be the exact ones on their website or are their other cakes that wont be charging more to our balance?? just wondering because i couldn't imagine you have to choose one of the cakes on the website if you dont want to get charged?!!! idk lol

ill post it here for others to read too, its been brought up on the boards ALOT. What you do is ask them to serve your guests sheet cake. They'll make only one layer of your cake with real cake inside for you to cut into. The rest will be molds of cake that they put the fondant over. And you wont be able to tell its only a mold.
its also better for a few reasons. 1- its easier for the baker to work with it. 2-it takes days to make a fondant cake with alot of detail to it, so this way the cake doesnt have to sit for a few days while they finish the design, they can make fresh sheet cake. 3-guests will be served cake soon after cutting, they don't have to wait to cut the cake. But most importantly they charge less for this
and a bonus i just though of is that im guessing you can keep the cake, except the one you cut into. Keep it as a souvenir
yeah theres a couple of designs JT provides, i think they're all on the website. THose are the free cakes. If you want to make something else and plan on having dortoni's still make what you want, i think you only pay the difference.
That wouldn't be that hard to make so definitely talk to them about it

thanks so much denise. yeah i figured it wouldnt be too hard for them to make since it really just looks like the ribbons are wrapped around with the beading going down the side...and if it is a little extra i dont mind. but i am guessing i would have to pay extra for this cake since it doesnt look like the cake on JT's website.
Oh and thank you for the info about the fondant!! I love that idea. And do you know if we have to make an appt with the bakery from JT ourselves or do we go through JT?

you know what, maybe they'll make that for you without charging you. I would definitely ask first if they can do that. I am not sure but call JT just to double check and then call dortoni's to make an appt with them

yeah definitely call, even when i make up problems he was so nice and the bm was like its ok denise, and if theres any other questions you ever have just call me anytime dont worry about it or anything i can help you out with.
Plus its not calling to bother them or anything like that. But in order to figure out what cake you will do you'll have to call them regardless ya know. You are paying them and she feel you are able to call if you have questions about anything.
