I read TCOYF a while back and have been making much more of an effort in tracking my cycles lately.....although I don't chart. I can't calculate down to the day, with ovulating and getting AF. I always estimate within a few days just to get a ballpark so I know I'm all okay!
So my question is, how can you ladies get the number down to the day you're due for either AF or to O?! Am I the only one who's always a few days early/late depending on stress, etc?

Re: calculating cycles to the day?
I charted... so I was able to tell when AF was coming, and when I was to Ovulate.

Re: calculating cycles to the day?
Without charting of using an OPK, there's no way that I'm aware of that will tell you when you ovulate, unless you have that pain in your side some women experience. What I can tell you is that it doesn't matter how long your cycle is, but once you get AF, you know you ovulated about 14 days before.

Once I stopped taking the bcp, I wasn't sure which day to expect it. My cycles have always been crazy.

Re: calculating cycles to the day?
OK few things-- it is not true that you everyone ovulates 14 days BEFORE AF--- that is an average luteal phase---
As far as cycle goes-- I pretty much have a 28-29 day cycle--it doesn't vary too much-- I can feel when I ovulate as well as feel when AF is approaching--- sometimes it really is just about paying attention to your body and other times there is no way to tell---
Even without temping you can start to keep track and get an idea (which is what I have been doing)
Hope that helps Laura

Re: calculating cycles to the day?
thanks everyone - without going into TMI, I did read about CM and all from TCOYF so I do watch that, but it still doesn't pinpoint to the day....I guess I'd have to chart for the precise info.
I don't think you can pinpoint with out charting...
I don't...but after reading TCOYF...I joke with John about the discharge and saying I'm ovulating... sorry if thats TMI!!!

Re: calculating cycles to the day?
I bought those ovulation kits. You get 5 of them and a free prgnancy test inside. They work pretty good, because it said Im ovulating....so you know what hubby and I will be doing

Thanks everyone....
Erica - too funny! So is John reading the book along with you?!
Diane - how much are those Ovulation Kits? I heard really pricey?

I have just pointed out a few things from it...like that story of the IUD for men in the beginning...(which is what caused my mom's friend to have a hystorectomy) and I showed him the pictures...

Teri....I bought First Resonse. I got the ones where you pee on the stick. I paid $11.99 for 5 ovulation sticks, and it comes with a Pregnancy test.

Re: calculating cycles to the day?
I was able to tell until this past month, becuase I got the pain on my side from ovulating, then last month, I had DUB, whichis better known as Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding. I was not sure when I was going to get AF. I started to chart this month, and it was actually easier then I thought, and the gynocologist told me to do this becuase she wanted to make sure I was ovulating, and I did feel the side pain for about a week, I used to feel it for a day, or two, but with the charting I was right on time, and knew when Af was going to get here. Now I am just miserable becuase I am having bad cramps, and a heavy flow, but it is for a good thing I keep telling myself.

you can go to webmd.com and use their ovulation calendar to pinpoint the day....its pretty good if you have your past few , three months start dates
