Call me crazy

where do I begin...Well it has been about two months since ive been searching for a reception hall and i cant tell you how frustrating its been...I thought this was supposed to be fun! I have turned into such an indecisive person!
I cant seem to make up my mind and I am constantly second guessing my choices which is making me and everyone around me think Im crazy!! Ive gone to different places in new rochelle, the bronx, Long island...Im trying to find the dates I want at the place I want coordinate that with the church hours...you guys know the deal. I even worry about events that I cant control like the weather...Sometimes I think, Why is this so difficult for me--I mean its one night--only 5 hours! Just wondering, has anyone else been through this? Is this normal? I can't wait till I sign a contract with someone already!

It is a very stressful but EXCITING thing to plan a wedding. I think every single bride has 2nd guessed everything.

I was exactly the same way - totally stressing out over everything. All I can say is that things will fall into place...they did for me. I was freaking out that the church was going to be booked, or they wouldn't have the time available - guess what? They did!

the best advice I can give you is not to settle on a place...I was so frustrated that I was just ready to book any hall....and then we found one that we both liked and were comfortable with. Good luck!

Heh. We looked at 15 (I think) places and I drove myself crazy. We even left deposits at a couple of places! But at each place, there was something I didn't like, until I saw Glen Island.

Just hang in there! You'll find the perfect place!

I am going through it right now.

I am joining the club here. I've become a bit obsessive. It's been over 2 months of searching and i'm just as close to figuring it out as I was a few months ago.

I guess the only thing I can say is...when the place is right, and the time is right, it will all come together. Maybe taking a week break from searching will help (I know I did that a few weeks ago, and it brought me back to reality)?

I know exactly what you mean. Whoever said looking for a hall was fun is crazy. I am so glad I finally found mine (booked it a few weeks ago), and it's a place we almost overlooked. Everyone says the rest is easy from here. Don't worry, you'll find your hall. What type of place are you looking for?

I searched for about six weeks; I even had dates held for me at two different places, but something just felt wrong with everything and I usually knew it as soon as I walked in.

You will find it; it's only one night but it's such an important one. I know it's tiring but keep looking and you'll find what you're looking for.

I just want to say thankyou to everyone for their advice and support--Ever since I joined this poll Ive calmed down a bit-that and taking a few days off from searching has really helped. As for the type of place im looking for...well im having a large wedding so something moderately priced--nothing crazy expensive--something near the water would be nice (lake pool ocean)--we'll see--its really nice knowing that what im going through is normal!!
