Re: calligraphy courses?
I am interested in doing that also. I bought some books from Barnes and Noble and started practicing. I was thinking after the holiday's I would ask the local craft stores if they have classes or know of any. Try Michael's or AC Moore.

I just taught myself with a kit and booklet.. I'd be interested in going though... although I probably wont' make it to the class in time my invites have to come in and go back out in month or less!
but can you post about the classes anyway?

usually some of the bigger libraries around the island will have classes - look into you local library! I know mine in Lindenhurst did back in the summer!

Re: calligraphy courses?
I wanted to do my daughter's invitations so I decided to take a course. I went to the one at Michaels which was a 2 hour course. It was pretty much useless as you can't in any way learn calligraphy in 2 hours. A few months later, my local HS offered it as an adult ed class and it was fantastic! It was 8 two hour classes and you really learned how to form the letters properly. I addressed all of my daughter's invitations and they came out great. I still use it when addressing cards to friends and family and as I'm a teacher, the skill comes in handy when filling out special certificates for the children.

Re: calligraphy courses?
Try the Middle Country Public Library or maybe email [email protected]. The second one is a craft store and maybe they have one. Or Michael's sometimes does craft classes.
